Lord Agruis is a centaur prince. He is also in real trouble. Not only is he in enemy territory, he has also just been shot through his flank with an arrow. If he is captured, he will be executed. Wicked Lord of Thessaly by Racheal Slate was a sweet and fairly clean read. Since it was only eight chapters, it was also a fast read, but it also had a three part epilogue. Unfortunately, it was the epilogue that (for me) changed this book from four stars to three. I really liked Agruis and Eione's characters. I liked their chemistry and their spunky banter. I also liked the plot, but again, it was the epilogue that upset my enjoyment. Most of what was in the epilogues should have been in the body of the book with more development. Instead, additional characters were introduced and events took place in a spotty way. It was just a bit confusing. Admittedly, this is the first work by this author that I have read, but this is suppose to be a stand alone book. I must assume that the added characters were from the previous book in this series because the inside title page states that this is book 2, but the summary page on Amazon's site says it's book 1. Regardless, a little more development would have helped first time readers. Lastly, I never did figure out the connection between the title and the story.

I am really enjoying this series! This book is just as good as the ones before it! Eione is such a brave and strong woman. I like how she thinks and how she hunts wearing mens clothing. I like how Agrius realizes who she is to him but allows her the time to realize and decide for herself. Eione and Agruis are both brave and caring people. This story has the right balance between action and romance.
I would like to give the book a 4.8 rating -- I wish it was a little longer. But I really enjoyed this quick read. It covered a lot of bases in a short amount of time and done expertly. I was able to follow along smoothly and was very satisfied with how everything panned out.
There are a couple of scenes where I wish it had expanded (hence wishing it were longer) but all-in-all, LOVED it!
Another heart warming heart melting romance. I loved unveiling this story Eione is a strong woman with a heart of gold. Agrius is a fine example of a centaur. These two really balanced one another.
Ms. Slate writes with a lot of emotion and gives you warm fuzzies. I'm so thankful that I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. If you love centaurs, strong women and action with your romance then grab your own. I cannot wait for the next story, I am loving this series.
Wicked Lord of Thessaly by Rachael Slate is a sweet PNR romance. Lady Eione is a Lapith Princess, Lord Agruis is a centaur Prince and the two races do not get along. While hunting Eione shoots Agruis with her bow and arrow. Shocked to discover she has injured a centaur, she quickly decides she must hide and help save him from execution. This begins our story of this forbidden love. This was a very good book and I recommend it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
This is a short story that can be read in one sitting (I did). I enjoyed this book and would like to read the rest in this series. I liked the characters and felt invested in them. I also enjoyed reading about centaurs instead of the usual dragons or wolves (not that there is anything wrong with them), but it was a nice change. I recommend this book to anyone who likes to read about shifters and romance. I received this book for free and voluntarily leave this review.
Eione, hunting on her family’s lands shoots what she thinks is a stag only to find out it is Agrius (Centaur shifter). Agrius, is bewitched by Eione from the moment he saw her. When he blacks out from his injuries she hides him and cares for him till he wakes, at which point he realizes she is his mate. Unwanted family obligations and a future with a man she despises sends Eione back to Agrius with a bribe to take her to Centaur lands. Agrius takes her along to finish his quest and return to his home. While traveling they become close, however, trouble follows and Agrius is captured at the border where a war between the Lapith and Centaur looks eminent. Love this series, the stories are riveting and the characters are captivating. Looking forward to more!
Really superb! Love Agrius and Eione's tale so as I loved the other two books. This series is captivating and each story you read makes you become more addicted. Rachael' s writing style is colorful and very descriptive, you can view the scenes like a movie. There are adventure, hot (very very) hot sex, but there also a delicious tender quality also, a sense of family with a mythological flavour. The sensation is that Halcyon is a great family of fantastical characters and we soon fell in love with wind bornes, water bornes, s, nymphs, ceuntaurs and other creatures. I already pre-ordered Bruthish lord and can'wait Oreius and Nysa's adventure. I continue intrigued and hoping stories for characters like Petraeus, Venn and Lena, but I'm certain in next book I will know more characters and will want stories also for them. Rachael, I could not forget I love your Halcyon children Lucian, Ianthe, Kierra, Oreius's lads, and I hope more babies for next stories. Perhaps we can have someday a spinn-off of the spinn-off centaur series with all theses offsprings.Success!
